Dusk Settles In - 18x24, 225lb linen paper with Chroma Interactive acrylics applied with palette knife. Loose expressionistic/impressionistic style. Dusk is one of the many beautiful times in the Southwest. As a sunset starts to develop it is like magic before your eyes!

Beautiful works! Love the vertical strokes in the first painting's foreground. There's movement in the texture. Excellent deep blues in the second painting as well! Great sky!

Dawn Breaking - 22x30 full sheet of rough 300lb watercolor paper with Chroma Interactive acrylics applied with a 2" x 5" masonery trowel in a loose expressionistic semi abstract style. The floor of the desert with its lightness of color presents an ideal reflective surface for the sky.

Re: Weekly paintings Southwest & Florida

Dawn Breaking is quite dramatic. It feels surreal...the land mimics the sky, and it all feels like a dream. Well done!

Monsoon Fury, 18x24, Chroma Interactive acrylics applied with a 2" x 5" masonry trowel onto 225lb linen paper with full arm strokes. The full fury of a monsoon storm is something to be remembered - they can beome very violent, turning dry river beds into raging rivers overflowing their banks and uprooting anything in their path!

Re: Weekly paintings of The Southwest

Night Fall Glow - 18x24 Chroma Interactive acrylics applied with palette knife on 225lb heavy linen paper. When the sun starts to set the glow produced on the red rocks of the Southwest is one of the most beautiful sights I've ever seen!
They almost appear to be iridescent and present a glorious coppery reddish glow that needs to be seen to be appreciated.
