Use to denote nudity/mature subject matter "Rainy Sunday Afternoon"

Have not done figure-based paintings in a long time, so getting my feet re-wetted again for practice. Thought it might be OK posted here.

Good painting, I don't like wearing wet socks.

Very well painted! The hands are detailed so well. Convincing light and space.

I like it a lot, its got a "1930's" painting style to it, I dont know how better to explain what I mean

A well constructed image. The phrase ‘cosily claustrophobic’ Sprang to mind. Certainly evocative of a dull Sunday inside. I like it.

Re: "Rainy Sunday Afternoon"

I agree with all the positive comments here, the sense of light, texture, colours and the mood captured in the mood and the expression... well done

if there was one suggestion to make it would be that from most rainy days I have seen, the light through the window would have a more grey sombre look?

Yes. Sort of a Hopper style where everything has its own space, and the interaction is intentionally sparse and planned. The effect is melancholy, like even the inanimate objects are reveling and conspiring in the solitude.
Nice job.

Re: "Rainy Sunday Afternoon"

Keith, I love the mood, the softness of the color and textures also compliment the scene. One small critique..the sock on the floor is in shadow and should be about the same value as the background. Otherwise perfect
