Re: Urban Sketches

a quick urban sketch on the way home from teaching - tombow grey pen, Posca white pen and wash with a waterbrush.

The door is on the corner, the building curves around - complex!

Thanks Sonia.

I was encouraged by Doug's comment that it is more about the memories than the quality of the drawing per se. Some of these were done rapidly standing up - sort of balancing and sketching exercise

Re: Urban Sketches

Our local sketch group participated in this project and one of our members (Stephen McGrath) produced a short video "walk-through" of our submission.

Re: Urban Sketches

No Doug, we didn't get it printed - just scanned each of the original sketches and had the little video made for our record. If we had wanted, we could have paid extra to have the sketchbook digitised by the Brooklyn Art Library - there are plenty of other submissions to view online here.

an interesting project

Drawing in a friend's urban garden in the sunshine. Inks in the S&B Nova sketchbook, grey. The petals were falling from the climbing Hydrangeas.

Re: Urban Sketches

From this month's Urban Sketchers meeting. I am still trying to find the right combination of materials to use in this Paperchase sketchbook - it needs a bolder approach than I am used to.

Here I used pen, Anilinky watercolours and Caran d'Ache Neopastels.

Re: Urban Sketches

Thanks, Doug. An outing to Devizes in Wiltshire, beside the Kennett and Avon Canal.

Still struggling with this tan paper. I kept adding more materials to this sketch to try and make it stand out!

Pen, watercolour, oil pastel, Inktense pencils, acrylic and watercolour markers

This is my usual style of sketching - pen and watercolour
