Re: What are you Working on Today?

Painting paper strips which I use as mock washi tape in my junk journals. I am using up some Golden samples doing this. The samples are a very thick paint.

Re: What are you Working on Today?

March 2 2019 4:00AM, I'm eating baked beans! Yesterday I put a coat of gesso on 8 stretched canvases, I may add a second coat today. I do plan to work on the (same) landscape today, I'm making a bit of headway on the foreground. I am still doing compositional drawings for another painting. And there are weeds, and a shed I want to look into, maybe start cleaning/clearing that out.

After a nap, of course!

Re: What are you Working on Today?

I finished a piece a week or so ago, and decided to do some lessons, hoping to improve my work. I borrowed a book from the Internet Archive, and have started 2 studies. This author uses acrylic, and I use oils, so am adapting a bit.

The first part of the first one is drying as I work on the second. I have a third and fourth practice sheets set to go for the next few days.
I have about 10 days before I have to return the book, so I will do what I can.
After I get the 4th started, I should be able to continue on the first. I hope to complete 5 or 6 (or more). That should help, too, with speed.

Grub, that is a beautiful piece.

Re: What are you Working on Today?

I am repainting and refurbishing the murals and raised letter signs that run along my back fence. After a year of exposure to the elements some of the signs are in need of attention. They are my way of welcoming visitors into my little town, as a 30 mile biking trail sits just on the other side of the fence.

Re: What are you Working on Today?

Well it has been a while since I have posted in this forgotten thread. Indeed, it looks as it everyone else is the same, it has been over a month since anyone has posted in it! This one is technically not what I am working on because I just now finished it. It has been setting on my easel for probably a month and a half. 10" X 20" oil on canvas. Not a real good photo because it is dreary and rainy here today.

Looks great and I particularly like the face on the left potato.

Re: What are you Working on Today?

Thanks Ian, the colors are really off in this photo. It was a rainy day, I need to get a better photo. I hadn't noticed the face, but there it is! Potatoes do have eyes you know.

Re: What are you Working on Today?

We have a beautiful day today so I got a much better picture. The colors are much closer to the painting.

Re: What are you Working on Today?

Margaret, I just happen to visit this thread after a super long absence and am really taken by your art. For not having a better description, your greens are what I will call delicious to my eyes. I haven’t painted in oils in years, but have been thrashing around in the watercolors instead. You do super work that is beyond my abilities.
