Re: What are you Working on Today?

A friend preparing a meal. I may add to it, or redo it altogether as there are many errors.

Re: What are you Working on Today?

She's not preparing a meal, she's loafing! Looks fine as is, if you add any more detail you will have to add detail all over it or spoil the effect. You could just do another from the start if you want to make corrections.

Re: What are you Working on Today?

Thanks Margaret, I think her arms and legs are more shapely, or at least I hope so. She asked me if that's how I see her and I of course, said yes. Easy enough to do again. It was for a card to say thank you for the meal 😊

Are you painting?

Re: What are you Working on Today?

Today is Sunday, and I've slept almost half of the last 4 days. I feel better (right now), 5:30 AM 35'. Today I will pay bills, file, work on my landscape--I did get a layer of paint on it yesterday--today I plan to work on the foreground, at least an initial layer of color. I hope to do some compositional drawings, then pull a few weeds before taking a nap! Busy day ahead. Maybe I should nap NOW!

Re: What are you Working on Today?

Yesterday I finished a semester in my new Master's degree. I am working on finishing my 3rd bison of a 3 bison sculpture grouping, and I am finishing the molds and pouring wax for a sculpture of 2 elk fighting.

So bison (clay):

And elk (wax):

Great sculptures Katy.

I love clay but don't have the facilities for moulding or firing. I've looked at your work before and always liked it.

Re: What are you Working on Today?

Katy, I love the way the elk is turning out so far. I'm not seeing the bison for some reason.

Edit: The bison just now popped up. Great work!

You must have written this at exactly the same time I saw it. I thought you meant you thought the bison did not look like a bison ("I'm not seeing it,") rather than "I can't see the picture." I must need more coffee.

Funny, no, the bison looks very much like a bison. It just wasn't loading for some reason.

Re: What are you Working on Today?

"I must need more coffee" could be my 24/7 motto.

Today, I'm reworking the text on my print certificates, re-organizing my print journal (a list of all the images I've had printed, with the numbers of each of the prints sold), working on a couple paintings and a (commissioned) logo design, and having coffee (!) with a friend this afternoon.

I have a show in Dallas next month, and I have tons to do to be ready.

Katy, the bison is beautiful! So Powerful. You have a wonderful talent. Along with that, your hard work and time in, your pieces are successful. Congratulations.

Re: What are you Working on Today?

Good luck on your show, Keith.

I've been working on compositional drawings already--it's not yet 8AM and I think I might have enough to do a color study or two soon.

I have the paint out to work on the landscape. The foreground still eludes me. The painting I'm copying has a pretty dark FG that makes it hard to see. So I will (inadvertently) make a few changes, in part because of that and in part because I am not yet a good "copyier"!

Re: What are you Working on Today?

Hey everyone, been away but painting always. Took me forever to find this thread but it's nice to see familiar people still posting awesome art.

This is a recent one I did of my Great Aunt, it was taken by a WPA photographer who was taking photos of poor people in the Ozarks to sell to city newspapers. It was recently exhibited and I was excited it sold before the show opened.
