JJ. you are amazing. Love your sketches. Perhaps one day I'll have one of them, it would be wonderful.

Nice sketches JJ. You're lucky to have a group to sketch with regularly.

Re: J-J's SKETCHBOOK :-)

Thank you all for your wonderful comments. I do get a lot of joy going out sketching this beautiful city of mine. There is always some thing to new to sketch, lot of "secret" places and lots of not so secret, just waiting for a pen and paper to capture them.

David, there wasn't always a group. I got sick of sketching on my own, so asked permission from the board of directors of www.urbansketchers.org to start one here. You can do that too. Mine has been going four years or so now. It was very small at first, just two people, but with perseverance and the help of FB it grew. There are nearly 400 members now.

There are around 30 countries who have urban Sketchers now, and hundreds of regional chapters (as mine is) within those countries.

It is so rewarding going out with a group of like-minded people sketching and talking art. Nothing like it.

Cheers JJ

Nice lively sketches JJ. You are sooo prolific. I am also envious that you are part of a group of enthusiastic sketchers.

Thumbs up SKETCHING HORSES and SHEDS at BURPENGARY

Friends of mine has a property in Burpengary, nestled amongst the trees in suburbia. He has four horses, a sheep, Goat, and two dogs. It was a gorgeous day, and while the children were riding, I was sketching, of course.

All are sketched in my Fabriano Venezia - sketchbook - 6" x 9.5" - Uni Pin 0.8 pen and watercolour, and water soluble graphite.

I really enjoyed sitting quietly in the corner of the paddock with my back to another shed and sketching this shed. I think I might be getting better at these buildings.

This is my kit, sitting on my WalkStool
I really love it, it is light, easy to manage and comes with it's own carry bag. I didn't have my easel today, just sat with book in hand.

Practice makes perfect. I will keep practicing. They were moving a lot.. :-D
