Re: March 2013 Watercolor Challenge - Tulips

OK, I'm calling them done. I can't look at them anymore.
I'll put them aside for a few days and see if I want to fiddle with them again next week.

Sorry the photo is fuzzy and a little dark.
11x17 JackRicheson paper
cobalt yellow
new gamboge
opera
lt cad red
perryol red
FUM
and Paynes Grey

I changed the composition and the colour. My mom has purple and red tulips.

Caryl, these are just GORGEOUS! Absolutely GORGEOUS! Thank you!

Oh, my, Doug, the second choice I cringe at even trying it! Tulips! Tulips! Tulips! Yay!

The corn mill looks quite challenging...I'll stick with the tulips, but look forward to seeing your rendition of the mill, Yorky...I do like it very much, just don't think I could do it justice.

Careful, Maribeth! You know how Doug loves to challenge us!

Doug, I'm also looking forward to your rendition of the Mill!

and, Caryl, again, I am just loving your Tulips! A fabulous use of color to get that silky feeling (but, shame on you, Opera? But, again, it is such a lovely color! I'm glad I no longer have it in the house!)

Opera is under so many layers of other stuff... I don't think it will be a problem. Especially after I spray it with uv light protectant.

Caryl...gorgeous...simply gorgeous. Doug, I love the choice...especially after looking at the second choice, , I like the idea of using a vase or bowl with the reference photo...that might be the way I go too.

Wonderful idea Larry; tulips and mills are so typical Dutch (or attached to eachother whatever you prefer)
Being a Dutch woman your painting makes me smile because we do have a lot of windmills and tulips
