A picture from the old days and at a weekend course in the Franconian Jura.
There where you can still find fossils from the prehistoric times. We did not
look for fossils, but for motives that you can easily paint. The paper does not
allow for great artistic feats and clean gradients. The first coat of paint must
fit, no further chance possible. The perspective was a bit difficult, I never did
anything similar before.Format/Format: 35 x 50 cm
Papier/Paper: Mirandatex 250 gr
Farben/Colors: gemischte Marken/mixed brands

Painting is not everything in life - but without painting everything is nothing!July 1, 2018 at 12:13 pm #651287This is lovely – an early Ernst! Great depth, wonderful viewpoint and super drawing and washes. 🙂

Very clean work, very impressive. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Painting is jealous, and requires the whole man to herself. Was man halt mit Kindern so macht
Nice area, we’ve been there for fossil searching and looking for Roman remains with the kids. Not easy to find a good composition/view for these villages all lying in steep valleys. But well solved here. Never heard of Mirandatex, but I only use Arches anyway.
