Physical perfection

Hello all! This is my latest painting done on a 14 x 18 in. panel. For this painting I used raw umber, burnt umber, burnt sienna, yellow ochre, lead tin yellow, ultramarine blue, van dyck brown, and flemish white.

Comments and critiques are welcome. Thanks for looking!!!

Re: Physical perfection

Wow you're right, Sid, that wall texture is excellent! I also love how it was signed on the picture in the picture (it's the little things sometimes )

The paper might look more paper-like if that right edge didn't have such a rounded shadow, giving it depth where there normally isn't any. The shadow behind the paper is great, so that will pop out beautifully with a harder edge on the paper

Jose: why did you do my portrait?
This is really well painted and has that nice softness I like about your work.

Re: Physical perfection

Thank you, Sid! That Rublev Flemish White I was using helped me get that textural effect on the wall...its a fast drying white faster than flake/cremnitz white!

Yes I did, Raffless! lol Thank you for your kind comments.

Thank you, Paul! I appreciate your kind comments and observations. Youre right that if I have painted a harder edge on the paper would have made it more paper-like...that really escaped me this time!

That sure looks like you, Derek! lol Thank you for your motivating comments.

Thank you, mariposa! Long time no see. Yes, I got this painting uploaded in Ugallery already. You found me fast! ;-)

I was so pleased to see you on UGallery. (I'm an artist there too. I love them!) I see you've sold well there. I can see why! Your work is wonderful.

Thank you, Mark! Im so honored to know youve liked it!

Thank you, mariposa! I would love to look you up on Ugallery! Its been a year since I decided to give them a try and love their way of doing business.
Yes, Ive been selling some there...last painting Ive sold there was a commission of doing the same painting(the one with the pewter train and block letters) and instead of reading train on the block letters it should read "Allan".
