You have created a very palpable, dusty / smoky looking atmosphere on the left side that I quite like – coupled with the contrast and clarity of the right side of the piece makes for an even more interesting and visually stimulating composition.
I looked through several of your paintings on your website and didn’t see a single one that didn’t appeal to me which is pretty rare for me.

http://billfitzgerald.blogspot.com/February 24, 2018 at 7:10 pm #570982My first thought was “That’s incredible!”, then when I read that it was done in acrylics, my second thought was “That’s even more incredible!”

February 27, 2018 at 10:34 am #570973Stunning. Each item has it’s own weight and texture. I like the way you have setup the composition and the way the light is cast. Love the colors in the bowl of oranges and in the background on the left, they add a fresh liveliness to the painting.
Off topic – wish I knew you were in Ghent; I used to go there very often for work and I would have loved to see your paintings in person.

I paint acrylics in another way as painting with oils. If I should work in the same way as with oils, it would take much more time and effort.
Now, it’s (technically) almost a piece of cake.Mark.
