I have attempted another sky painting and cannot decide the better way to present it.
This sky stretches above a bit of land off River Rd (Rte 25). It is one of the few local areas of open sky and never ceases to draw my eye. Sometimes I just have to stop and drink it in.
Here are the options.
8.5”x12”Or diptych (or as separated works)
–
Each 8.5”x6”. Admittedly, they may not be strong enough to stand alone-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a white dog and lots of pastels...but are any of them the right color when I need them to be?

Thanks! Larger, and wider. Wider provides that unseen portion the split of the diptych provided. I think a 2:1 would work well. Maybe 36″ x 18″?

You make a very good point, so maybe 24″x12″, Ann.

apagefineart.com[/SIZE]September 18, 2018 at 2:44 pm #696663I never understood the use of diptychs for realistic artwork. I like that first version.

September 18, 2018 at 2:44 pm #696681The sky being the star, I think it is better whole so as not to interrupt those sweeping clouds.

September 18, 2018 at 4:20 pm #696669I vote for the single panel. More sense of space in the sky, and no worry about center of attention at right.
September 18, 2018 at 4:35 pm #696675Thank you for that feedback. I’m thinking this one works

more sky!
C&C welcome
September 18, 2018 at 5:41 pm #696667I like the cropped version better. There is still plenty of sky in it for my taste. Gary

Lol, ronsu. I’ll just have to paint you another sky;) !
I agree with Gary. The overall painting is stinger in the shorter version.
