Marion, it's gorgeous! It just speaks to me of what poppies are all about--color, and fire, and life, and yet that fragility that lets you see through the petals...

Thanks Maureen, Kay and Lea.
Maureen, it didn't really take me that long - It was one of those paintings that just flowed. I think the underpainting helped a lot and was one of the reasons it did not take that long.

Marion this work is absolutely lovely, a real credit to you and your talent. I agree with you on underpainting, it does seem to make the piece flow quicker and easier. I always find that if I underpaint the overall finished piece has a more casual style,,something Im always looking for. Its also a great way to use up left over paint on the palette.
