Good morning all – it is a chilly morning here in SW Georgia this morning but is will be gradually warming up over the next week or so. Service folks just left after making sure the furnaces are working correctly (annual service) and fortunately everything looks good. :)

Here are a couple more from New Mexico. Sandhill Cranes and Snow Geese.

man oh man, Don, you returned from your last trip with a bucket full of quality images. The flying geese is another prize winning shot. You are doing a lot of things right.

Thanks for starting the daily for this chilly Monday. Sounds like its cold all over.

ps. The sandhill cranes are awesome too.

Don, if you feel like it, please add your snow geese shot to THE BEST OF thread in the Darkroom. But don’t feel that you have to.

            Don,
I love how the cranes are opposing with
the leg-lock illusion. The silhouette lighting worked great.
            Snow Geese: winner!

            Hi Lorell!
I saw some of the new challenge threads. Hope I
            will have something to contribute.
            Its sunny but cold.
            current temp is 30F (-1C)
            (windchill 24F)

            I’m processing some older photos
that I never processed to check my
            color and save qualities.
(basically using the Pub posts for
            my field tests!)
So if anything looks way off, don’t be afraid
            to say so!

Patty, looks like you are back on track. The color are rich and natural looking.

The cloud looks like an angel smoking a cigar. Great reflection too.

I will post the solution to the puzzle “can you find the difference”, check it out soon if you still want to take a Crack at it.

All that grows in a few inches of sand and a bit of organics underneath.

My sister lived a few miles to the south west of this area and they were prone to wind driven wild fires. That organic layer would ignite.

We have one on our east coast commonwealth of Pennsylvania,
but it’s not an ancient fire. Man made.
Never been there. Not sure breathing the by-product would be good.
Most of the residents have left and those who have chosen to stay
have no zip code and their properties will be taken by the state after they pass away.
