Winter Forest 2019

MY IMAGE(S):

GENERAL INFORMATION:
Title: Winter Forest 2019
Year Created:
Medium: Acrylic
Surface: Canvas
Dimension: 2ft x 3ft
Allow digital alterations?: Yes!

MY COMMENTS:
finished today 22.10.19

This is a combination of three pictures put together to create my Winter Forest. I am not sure with the lighting of the sky but please comment if you see something off. This is a donation for a charity auction to raise money for Big Brothers locally.

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
Interested in feedback on sky tone, darkness??

Re: Winter Forest 2019

Good job of depicting the snow and colorful back tree line. I agree with the comment that it has too many diagonals. Would the one on the left be best since it points to the main tree as the point of interest? Nice job and good luck.

Re: Winter Forest 2019

i agree with you both, but how about if i took out the two lower ones on the right (easier) however if you both think that long one from the left i will attempt it.

Re: Winter Forest 2019

Because the vertical lines are so strong, we immediately see the contrasting diagonals, especially because they are also about the same size. Imho, taking them all out would make a stronger painting so that we can then stop to admire the beautiful snow and shadows that are so well done. If you wish to add anything, maybe take a few bushes or rocks further in to increase the depth. Best wishes on the auction.

I agree that they have to come out, I will work on that later today; I think I will just leave the little on the far right side and that is it. Thanks. Maybe adding some small pop-up grass/etc will do the trick. one thing at a time...now to remove those branches...egad!

Re: Winter Forest 2019

Ideas for future ..
Maybe soften the far land line - snow & distance would show as softer back there..
Softer snow lines/edges at tree trunks
Avoid placing for half objects right at edges & strong lines pointing outward..

Re: Winter Forest 2019

Thanks, I went back in and softened the back line, just a bit and soften the edges of the snow/tree trunk areas.
