2 Just Finished

Here are two pieces that I have just finished. This one is of Anemone Flowers and is a 3"x4.75". This is my first time ever doing flowers in scratchboard.

This one is a Beadhead Prince Nymph Fishing Fly and is a 5"x7".

Both were colored with Ampersand Inks.

Re: 2 Just Finished

Greg, I'm no floral type guy, but those petals are dang good
Now that fishin fly....Oh Yeah! Nice coloring and highlights
I've been kicking around a board idea with a bunch of old time lures, you know, hula popper, jitterbug, a couple of old school plastic worms, maybe a rapella...ya might have just kick started me back into working on it.
It's great to see ya putting the blade to board

Like them both but that little fishing fly, framed properly, would look great next to someone's fishing equipment.

Re: 2 Just Finished

Thanks Alan! I have been trying to do some things with fly fishing, I sold a scratchboard of an Adam's fly last month. I would like to do some of the newer lures, but I don't know how it works with copyright on like a Rapala.

Thank you Harold! I have been trying to do some color pieces mixed in with the b/w stuff.

Thanks Snoball! I am planning to frame it in a barn wood frame, that is what I did with the Adam's fly that I sold and it turned out very nice.

Greg, I thought the fly was the reference pic. Great detail!

Re: 2 Just Finished

Wonderful job, Greg. Scratching fur and flower petals are so totally different, don't you think? I've done both and I tend to like scratching fur better.

Re: 2 Just Finished

Yes Daine, they are very different. I did that one as an experiment to try to improve my overall technique and hopefully I learned something. I agree I would rather do fur but won't rule out another flower or more in the future.
