This is Maria, my piano student.. This is a commissioned portrait using charcoal pencil and mostly vine charcoal and white pastel from lyra.. I draw it on a DIY toned paper using WN Galleria Gesso + small amount of acrylic paint (umber and ochre). Size is 23×16″.
Any C&C are welcome!

February 15, 2018 at 5:45 am #566036AnonymousThank you all for the positive feedback.. Not sure why but I really can’t photograph the drawing and match like the original when seen in person. Some shading look different than when seen in person. Guess that what makes drawing/painting mysterious.

February 23, 2018 at 7:03 am #566031Excellent work! I don’t believe any image has captured everything that my original work shows- your originals will always look better in comparison (if you’re considering a fixative here, do a test sample on something else first).

Comments or Critiques welcomed...always!February 23, 2018 at 9:06 am #566038AnonymousThank you Ken. Thank God I didn’t have to spray this drawing using fixative. I ask about fixative for future order in case it comes from different city and needs shipment..
