I always seem to start my posts with an excuse, but this one wasnt of my making. The room was the smallest we have ever used. The uni is very busy this year with evening seminars and the organisers are having trouble finding anything suitable. When the model sat on the floor, we had to lean over the desk to see him ;)

I decided to go back to a good old 2B pencil for all the sketches this session in an effort to be just a little tighter….

    Two 2 minute sketches

    5 minutes

    Two more 5 minutes

10 minutes – the model came with props, a glass in the hand…

10 minutes – yes he really did look this coy in the pose…

15 minutes, this was the one I had to lean over to view

Yes, good work. I especially like the last one. Accurate with real sensitive use of line weight.

David, You coped very well with the cramped conditions. It is frustrating when you have to lean over to view the model. Your last drawing is my favourite. Lovely lines and just enough detail.

Thanks Bill, Boogie, Mike and Bethany. My fiercest critic, my partner, was pleased too ;)

I have had times when conditions became cramped like that… it can be good for facial studies… and to me that’s what stands out with this evenings crop David !

Yes, the contemplative look on the face of the man holding his cup is lovely. All show your exploratory, expressive line in action.

                C&C always welcome.

I like them all but my favourite is the last one and the 3rd pix (figure on the right).

It is real pain when there isn’t enough room particularly if you can’t stand back from your work. You did well.

                    Nathan.
                    C&C always appreciated.
