Hi, I am pretty new here. This is a WIP. 22×22 oil on linen. C&C welcomed. I have about six hours in this and I figure I am half way done. Does it work?

I think it is working so far. Composition is nice. Bits of blue and orange reflections in the water provide a nice variety for the eye, while all the greens and browns in the rest of the areas provide color harmony.

Being born places you at a greater risk of dying later in life.

It is working, I like the painterly quality too. Are you going to refine it? Or leave it as is?

Ptrkgmc, I am going to refine it, somewhat. Color and value on the water needs to be unified, so I can capture the movement through the painting and out into the bright sunlight. The background will get a touch more work to emphasize the depth of the composition. If I don’t over work it, I hope the vibrancy will survive. Thanks for looking.
