Re: Marit - work in progress

Awesome work Walter! Wish I could see it in person without the camera/lighting affecting it, really great work.
And above all, don't panic.

Re: Marit - work in progress

A very nice overall tone to the piece. I haven't worked with a limited palette for decades. I may have to try it again.

I was curious about the Zest It. It sounds like a pretty strong solvent, able to dissolve Damar Resin. How is the smell? Any problems you have noticed from the fumes in enclosed areas such as headaches or whatever?

Thanks for the comments. On the Zestit , it is not really smelly in a closed area. The first time I used it was in a workshop where we painted with 10 people in a room the size of a classroom ... nobody had any issues. Now I use it home but in very small quantity as I use it mainly for cleaning the brush a bit between colors, and i use ir in the background a bit when i want more fluid paint.

Still when at home I keep my window open for ventilation as not smelling anything does off cours not mean it is good for you.

I like the product and besides this brushcleaner/dilutant product they also have more oily mediums with a bit of a citrus smell.

Photo is blown out in highlights, but looking at the previous photo you took I can say it is a lovely, fresh portrait.
