Re: Welcome to What's On Your Easel......June 2018

Really wanted to get rid of any raw canvas showing through.

So I got the base layers down now for all portions of the painting.

This is my process in any case, live layer upon live layer. This piece is going to have quite a bit of scumbling on it, which I don't have a lot of experience with, so that is going to be quite scary. Played around with it a bit today, adding a bit of a yellow scumbling on the dress, to tie in the ground a bit. You can barely notice it, unless up close.

Re: Welcome to What's On Your Easel......June 2018

Hello again. Long time since I've been here and a long time since I have been painting. This man seems to be on my easel forever.....
Reason: after painting a white lady, my goal and challenge is to paint a coloured man.
Now I am stuck. I don't have any idea how to proceed and what colours to use.
Can anybody help me out????

By the way.... did you notice his left hand has five vingers

Lol, I hate it when that happens. Follow your sense of color and he will look great!
