Beautiful colors marilyn. I love how you've added blue to the leaves near the bottom to give them a cooler shadowy feeling, and the background color is great. You have done a wonderful job with this. Looks like I could pick one and eat it. YUM!!

Marilyn, you may be tired of blueberries, but I am sure not tired of looking at them. This is absolutely gorgeous!

marilyn your technique is impeccable, but you need to pay more attention to your composition...everything here is tightly packed in the center, and you have definitive lines on the sides...this leaves the background feeling unfinished...your negative space is just as important as your positive space.

here's what I mean. I reduced this to a black and white image...

a good idea when starting out is to do a black and white of your positive and negative shapes. YOu can learn alot by doing so.

I agree with arlene to an extent. I think if you worked on the background more it will help. I had to laugh when this loaded. I expected to see blue fish.......lol The colors are lucious, and as always expressive

sorry i disagree...the blueberries are so compact that adding to the background won't change the inherent problem of the compactness.

Juicy, juicy palette.
Beautiful rendering, Marilyn.
A little more definition in the background pattern and tweeking it a bit with the foreground colors might help balance out the cluster. I like the stabilizing pull of the diagonals.

You will never know how many layers are on this piece. It started out as a FND watercolor working with CP on it. I know it is centered in the middle of the page. I have worked long and hard on that background to make it even presentable. Obviously, it needs more. I will have to spray it and see what I can do with it. I am afraid that it will look like a palette knife painting before long. Scratch your initials in it. Do an encaustic painting with it. JUst will have to try. I see my Boo Berries are off the page, Arlene they are at least visible now.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Those blueberries are just phenomenal! I mean I could just reach in and pick them right off of my monitor! Such wonderful form and color and 3Dness (I have a feeling that isn't a real word).
