Weekend Warriors

This is a piece in oils on a 10 x 20" stretched canvas. Weekend Warriors - the name reminded me of those who jump into boats only on weekends and holidays, leaving them to float unattended all week, waiting.

Re: Weekend Warriors

Very nice painting, Jeanette. That red boat really stands out. The other boats are very close in value to the water and seem less interesting. Maybe a little more color or contrast would help. Composition is excellent.

Re: Weekend Warriors

Thanks randalljazz, all types of boats have appeal to me.

Ron, yes the red boat is the focal point and I don't want the other boats to compete. There is an overlying 'blue' to it and in real life the contrasts are stronger. I won't be tinkering with it further.
