Feedback please

Is this piece done? I thought so, but now I am second guessing myself.

Re: Feedback please

I think it is lovely. Wonderful cool atmosphere, nice flow to the composition, lush colors (but not exaggerated). What's not to like? FWIW, I looked at your other posts, mostly portraits, and I would say this is much stronger.

Yes, this piece is done! I can smell the fragrance of nature in that painting.

Re: Feedback please

Allison R: Thank you. I have turned my direction in my art to landscapes lately. They are more forgiving, and a lot more fun! Your feedback is much appreciated.

Bhindi: What a compliment! Thank you!

Enelram: Thanks for giving me peace of mind.

Re: Feedback please

I am no expert, but I think you could add a few highlights to the large tree, and reduce the intensity of the blue flowers as they recede into the background. Overall the painting works fine as it is.

Re: Feedback please

Vabdogh, I just had another artist tell me the same thing. I guess I should take the advice of Bardo, and step away from the easel. I'll look at it again in a week with fresh eyes, so I don't over work it. I appreciate your feedback and opinions!
DK4242 DCam & Stapeliad, thank you!

Re: Feedback please

I'm of the same mind as you. It looks finished, but it looks like it could do with something else. No idea what though.

Re: Feedback please

You might consider adding a few warm tones, unless the cool tone feeling was your plan..

Re: Feedback please

If it was mine, I would be happy as it is. Or it could be taken further, either way as others have said. Your choice, if you think you can pull it off.

Whenever I feel the way you do, I try to get away from it for a while, and come back a couple weeks later with fresh eyes. Sometimes it helps to put the painting upside-down on your easel when you get back to it.
