Cambridge Street Studios - New Realist Atelier - Philadelphia PA

Hello Everybody,

I'm pleased to announce the opening of Cambridge Street Studios, Angela Cunningham, Instructor - specializing in classical painting, drawing and sculpture, located in the heart of Philadelphia. Classes begin September 1st.

It is world-class instruction; anyone is welcome, from absolute beginners trying to learn a new skill, to professional artists trying to reach a new level.

'Sky' - Angela Cunningham. Oil on Canvas.

Under Angela Cunningham, award winning graduate and instructor at the Grand Central Academy of Art in New York, and student of Jacob Collins, students will vastly improve their powers of observation and sense of form. Students will create fully-realized graphite drawings of classical sculpture on their way to rendering the human figure, with unsurpassed subtlety and truth, in both graphite and oil paint. Students will also sculpt from the classics and from life, further cultivating an ability to sense their subjects in three-dimensions.

'The Boxer' - Angela Cunningham. Oil on Canvas.

We are now accepting applications for the full-time program, as well as registrations for these part-time classes:

Evening Cast Drawing

In this class you will draw from plaster casts of classical sculpture. You will learn how to see shapes accurately, create a truthful drawing, and, by cultivating a profound understanding of light on form, render three dimensions with a high degree of sensitivity and fidelity. All skill levels welcome!

Monday -- Friday, 6:30 -- 9:30pm
Next session: September 6th through the 30th
Instruction by Angela two days per week. $200/ month.

Portrait Drawing in Graphite

In this class you will create a portrait in graphite from a live model. Blocking-in, measuring, materials handling, and the intricacies of light on form will all be covered in-depth. Learn powerful drawing technique and theory while capturing the gesture, expression and likeness of your subject. All skill levels welcome!
Saturdays, 9:30 am -- 4:30 pm
Next session: September 10th through October 1st
Six hours of drawing each Saturday with a one-hour lunch break. $200/ month.

We look forward to drawing with you!
-Andrew
