Lamar - lovely roo! Interesting approach with the ink. It does make the roo pop more.

Thanks for commenting, Terri, Christel, and Jennie! And thanks for hosting August, Jennie! There were a couple more images I thought worth a try, but I spent too much time on watermedia this month. The kangaroo proved irresistible, though

Yeah, about the blue ink: I didn't take the transparency of the colors I was using into account when I made that broad outline of the roo. The intention was to hide or expose the ink selectively, but it dominated instead.

I used the cold wax as a substitute for a blending stick that I couldn't lay hands on. It's an oil painting medium that amounts to fine wax mixed with solvent.

Thanks Lamar, appreciate the comment. Picking the images was harder than I imagined

Many thanks to everyone who had a go at my offerings. It has been a difficult month for me, but art always helps. And seeing all your work was a real bonus. Can't wait for next month. Jennie

Oh yes, you did mention that you used Cray-Pas Specialists here - I recently got a small set of them, and the first thing I noticed was how transparent they are, compared to Mungyo Gallery and most of the Senns. A big difference!

Thanks for the explanation on the cold wax medium. Looks like it was a very creative choice.
