Orange Blossom Special
Well...in staying with the seasonal theme...Here is number 49! Only one more to go before I can rest for the year.
This mandarin on my gold saucer makes a wonderful bloom.

PS I'll work on giving a more detailed review, but your piece left me speechless. Beautiful, beautiful, work.

Re: Orange Blossom Special
Another beauty.
How do you make it so lifelike and still look like the painting it is?
Looking forward to No 50.

Re: Orange Blossom Special
Dianna, this is so magnificent! Congratulations on nearing your goal! That's amazing -- each of them so realist and yet so hyper-beautiful, so much lovelier than life. You capture these little OMG moments that happen now and then, isolate them, bring them to life on paper. Looking down at this flowered-out orange, that's one of those tiny moments of finite perfection.
It'll never fade or go away. You're amazing, this is inspiring me! I have my pastel pencils and a pad of PastelMat to play with, maybe I should dare try for something detailed and realistic sometime...

Re: Orange Blossom Special
Such lovely comments and such a profound statement Robert....thanks ever so much.
I stopped to look at the post painting before I read the comments and had to laugh. I was listening to a audio tape while painting and as I perused the various elements in the painting...looking for fault...different segments took me back in time...about 200 years....to the audio event that was happening whilst I was working on that area.
Cheers and many thanks....Dianna

Re: Orange Blossom Special
I really like the subject (I know it very well ... ).
In my part of the contry citrus fruits are famous, i love them!
Just perfect (as always, Dianna!)!

Re: Orange Blossom Special
Wonderful, as usual. What really hit me (after realizing what the title ment, I was looking for an orange blossom as in *flower*... :-) is how fresh and juicy and edible and delectable it is! I recently saw a very similar painting, and it wasn't really attractive, as the fruit was dried and shrivelled, looked like it been sitting there for weeks, peeled open. Subconsciously, yours is so much more appealing!

Re: Orange Blossom Special
The light coming out of the little orange is awesome. You set the bar very high for your fellow artists.
Thank you for posting.

Re: Orange Blossom Special
Goodness, you are prolific! You're inspiring
Your colors and application are perfection, the shapes almost have an abstract quality about them while saying "orange" at the same time. The halo/diffused light on the highlights are something to be studied.
Lovely....
