acrylic and oils on panel size 16 x 26 inches
the picture shows the rms campania which held the Blue Riband in 1893 until her sister ship rms lucania which was a little bit faster took it from her and then held it for a few years.
I used a reference photo for details of the campania but the composition,the sky and the water are from my imagination.

JimFebruary 25, 2020 at 11:55 am #952220Lovely piece of work. I absolutely love the liners from that period, especially the ones with a clipper bow. The SS City of Rome immediately comes to mind. Inman Lines ships were the greatest looking ships of the period. The RMS Scot was pretty neat also.
