Scavenger Hunt #248 - Dec 5 - 13

Hey all
GET READY TO HUNT

If you've participated in at least one Scavenger Hunt and have time to host one we would really appreciate it. You can sign up by posting your name on the Current Hosting Schedule HERE ...

http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/show...366347&page=29

Here are the rules for the hunt:

1. ALL items must be sketched from life, not imagination or a photo reference.

2. Each object you draw can count for only one item on the list, no matter how many shapes/parts/colours that object contains.

3. You may place multiple objects together in a drawing or painting, and may count these objects as separate items, but no single object can count for more than one item.

4. All items posted must be numbered. Count them as you go. The first item you post will be #1 regardless of its place on the list. Do them in whatever order you wish, but count them in the order in which you sketch them, from 1 to 26.

5. Do as many or as few of the items as you like. You don't have to finish the entire list to participate.

6. The Scavenger Hunt "week" will last for 9 days, with the next hunt starting on the 9th day.

7. Please tell us the size, surface, medium, and the amount of time it took you for each sketch. We love hearing about your subjects and setups. Photos of your subjects are welcome.

8. If you have some hunt sketches completed but little time to read/comment, please post your sketches anyways. Commenting is appreciated but not necessary.

... here's the list....

smells good
smells bad
looks good
looks bad
sounds good

sounds bad
feels good
feels bad
foldable
four-wheeled vehicle

toy for kids
toy for grownups
moves quickly
moves slowly
moves at varying speeds

something seasonal
depicts the weather outside
something from a place you've visited
colourful
monochrome

fingernails
toenails
whiskers
coasters
nose
jacket

Challenge - use a non-standard surface for your sketch ... maybe a holiday tree ornament?

Have fun!

Great looking list EP. Few things there to think about.

Hi All. EP thanks for hosting.

Kivrin like the shading on the finger nails. Had to chuckle at your toe sketch...my first thiught .. a 6th toe?

I did one today, Took me well over 20 min as I started in graphite and realized it would not have the impact so I went over it with Prismacolors.

#1 Smells good - one of roses in bouquet I gave my bride for our anniversary. - half a page in 5x8.5 sketchbook.

I did not do them justice so am posting a photo of one as well.

Joe

Viv: Great sketches, esp. the cucumber in two stages.

Joan: Love your red toenails with the ring... You are really full of life.

Here is my first batch:

#1 smells good
#2 tastes good

#3 looks good

#4 my fingernails
#5 Lily's toenails

#6 tastes bad -- my experimental egg dropped soup. I should have consulted the recipe from the Internet first.
#7 looks bad

#8 smells bad -- several day old water inside the vase

Re: Scavenger Hunt #248 - Dec 5 - 13

Checking in to get the list. Thanks EP, nifty list.

Kivrin, great sketches of your digits.

Joe, beautiful rose. So hard to do, love the colors you chose.

Joan, love the wreaths and dock. Lovely.Your coffee grinder and toes are fun. I need to start my Hunt.

Vivian, I like your choices. I like cucumbers but Gene doesn't so I don't buy them often or they end up like your #4. Ha.

Ai, oh yes, the plant water does smell. Why was the soup bad? Nice sketch of the bad lettuce. Cute Lily's toes. The mangoes look good enough to eat. I like your choice for smell, too.

Be back later....
