Pastel Portrait

Just tried another media: Soft Pastel and it was quite interesting to work with. Here's the result, it's my 3rd attempt in using this media.

Soft pastel on Mi-Teintes paper 75x55

Please C&C are welcome.

Nice control of color and drawing! I would check the shape of his head once more, and smooth/soften/refine her hand for more femininity.

Re: Pastel Portrait

You did a great job with the woman's hair. I love the way it meets the forehead.
The faces look a bit washed out. I am not that good myself but I think that when working from a photograph you need to exaggerate the lights and darks in order to be able to really model the form. I think having more of a value range in the skin tones would make a tremendous difference.
