The pack of staghunt

Lets do thing the oteher way around. Here is a detail of the drawing

This is also a detail. this part was 12 x 16 inches (hot pressed arches 300g)
I had commission to sketch the hounds. But i dont want to sell sketches.
So I did this drawing my way and the sketches were all around on the frame.
The whole thing was great looking like XIX century engraving, but I dont have any photo of it.

Here is the stag

This could be the original photo, but it is not. It is a watercolor painting. It was not a commission, I did it because I Felt in love with these dogs. It was 60x80 cm on hot pressed id. You have about 20 dogs in the picture, I count 48 legs... and their reflection on the wet cement.
I had fun painting this.

I am a huge fan of Foxhounds, so I know why you fell in love with them your drawings and paintings are done masterfully. Don't get me wrong I really like all of them and appreciate the close-up on tip but, truthfully I like the graphite one (middle picture) the best because of the different values, and maybe because of the 2 howling pups, I can concentrate on the fewer dogs easier or something - I don't really know why actually. I'm a huge dog lover and your recreation of them is always a pleasure to see. Thanks Cyrille! (How do you pronounce your name?)

Cyrille (pronounce Bob ! )

I have been working in the states when I was younger, american could not pronouce it ... they use to say cereal (like corn flakes)... after three or four unfruitful trials i used to say "oh just call me Bob"

You could pronouce it the english way "cyril"
the french way is (sea-REE-LL) with the main accent on REE

Note : I first went to see your message about "your" dog
joking on (Pronounce BREE....)
so i laughed when you asked me how to pronounce my name..
It could have been your joke if you had read my reply
I hope you will have the same smile as mine at this moment.

it is fun ! when you write in french, i can hear your british accent !

I know you can say the same thing with my english
and in fact, I have a terrible french accent even if I am more or less fluent in english. I have not a very musical hear (?) so I sing like a frying pan and i speak english like a parisian Nevermind !
"produisez vous l'art pour une vie ?" did you say Hum !
That should be kind of direct translation of an anglicism...
.. Do you ask me if I am a professional painter ?
Yes I am.
Do you ask me if I have done that all my life ?
No I did not. I held my first paint brush in october 1996.
I decided to become a professional painter before trying to create my first painting.. my zodiacal sign is "taurus" and "horse" for the chinese.
and I am a caricature of these signs.
First exhibition may 97...
Did I answered your question ?
I discovered the pencil in october 97 ... my first drawing is on WC

On the contrary, your English is superb. The English, on the other hand, are quite ignorant when it comes to other languages, I blame the schools! Thankfully you understood the gist of what I was trying to say.

You mean the topsy-turvy grammar. To us, the French grammar is backwards, but then I imagine ours must appear so to you.

lol.

I think you have done extremely well to become a professional painter within the course of 6 years. It must be a hard market for even the pro's to make a living from. To have your first exhibition one year after starting... that is quite something.

I shall hunt (no pun intended given the subject of this thread) it out.

Such a wonderful painting! But everything I've seen here that you've done has been excellent so that is no surprise. I enjoy looking at your work! Thanks for sharing it!

that stands for Sealed With A Kiss!

And if you ask me, I can hear your French accent in your English quite strongly.

You guys are all too funny! On a different note I love this piece- especially the painting. It must have been challenging to keep all those legs straight!

I went to a lecture years back on Foxhounds - they are a truly fascinating breed.

And this is a truly masterful work of art! I really love your style!

I have three beagles and somedays it feels like there are this many of them in the house! Foxhounds are wonderful and I love to hear the sound of them baying.

Our beagles used to go running with several foxhounds and it made and interesting pack...

I love this piece and the reflections are wonderful.
