can i see your work area?

I wondered if any of you would be kind enough to let me see your work are/table... I want to buy a bigger desk myself.. i was thinking about getting one from the school.. those old metal teachers desk... Mrs.Thetford told me a the grocery store they had some they needed to get rid of in storage..
that will give me some more room on the sides and alot more in front... so i need ideas of ways to keep my stringers and organize my work area to make it all easily accessed.
thanks in advance!
:-D

Oh, if it is steel desks, get them, esp. with drawers, I keep the opalinos, the foils, and the intense black in the drawers. It is handy, I think to have them. I will try to get pics later. CC

Ok, here it is, untidy.. now curtain on the window because we pull down the top and insert fan, which pulls exhaust through the hood thingy that ya barely see at the top of the pic.. anyways, I love it in this corner because I have my fire extinguisher on the way just above my shoulder on the left, and the corner itself is great for my rods.. plastic drawer thingy good for sheets of glass and frits and other fun stuff, also have pvc tubing screwed to the wall on the left for the yard length rods that I bought.. oh yah, cannot forget the designer "starbucks coffee" bottles lined up on the left as well.. they're great for stringers and rod of colors that I dont have many of.

"Mini-Studio"

Jacinda, I'm in our apartment living room, so mine is an exercise in organization. We've also got three inquisitive cats, so everything has to be corralled or nailed down.

Here is the "workstation area", with my glass inventory in the white 4 - drawered rolling caddy underneath:

....and here is Darling Daughter Kate working at the torch. You can see the cookie sheet work area, hose set up and the various twisties from AlexM, coated mandrels, tools, etc, in heavy tumblers or clay jars on the one end:

It is small, but it works out.

Anne,
Where did you get the large to small round reducer for your range hood? I tried at Home Depot today...no luck. They looked at me like I was nuts!

Jacinda, GET THE DESK if you can. I work on an OLD metal desk with drawers and slidey table workspace - it's great. I have all my tools in one drawer, room for frit/enamels/pixie in one, foils etc in another, room to work, etc etc. Here's a pic, not a great one. Oh and I painted it to match my studio so it may not look like what you'd expect.

Jacinda - Here's my side of the garage! This summer we're probably going to move me into the pool house so I won't have to park outside anymore!!!!

I'll try to get a closer pic tomorrow!

mess and all

Here is my work table. I made the table and the design was a joint effort by me and my sister-in-law.

I have an L-shaped arrangement, Richard used base cabinets from Home Depot and "custom-built" the top. He surrendered the large cabinet to me to store supplies, he is a great guy !!!

Chris saw this thread and went out to take pictures. I think he just wants to show how messy I am and how tidy he is. I don't know how he works without glass laying around all over. (the mess on his side is from me!) Sometimes my friend Beth comes up and I have to use HIS torch. BTW, I cleaned up my side recently, this is how it looks AFTER I clean it up.

My work area~

Chris's~

We covered two 6' tables with cement board.
