Question about transporting artwork on airlines

Hello everyone this is my first post here in the forum, and i'm in a situation here

I have a question about transporting paintings,
I am currently in the UK and have some work on unframed hardboards, I've manage to get an exbition oppourtunity in Taiwan, however... I have to get the works there my self, and is wondering

1. how to protect paintings during transportation? I saw the home made cases by Marc Hanson on this site.. (however the system is saying "You are only allowed to post images or URLs to other sites after you have made 2 posts or more." wierd it is like from the same site)
anyway its in the plein air hall of fame forum titled " Wet Panel Carrier cheap and fast to assemble... "
I really like it but I'm septical about the durability

2. What will be the most economical and quickest way of transporting internationally??? any suggestions? maybe some service someone have used before? Or is it ok to use checkin baggage?

3. Also I'll be showing new works this time, and is still working on a few of the last pieces, and was wondering is there any danger transporting works thats not fully dry yet, I've never done this before

Please help
My thanks in advance =)

What medium, I am guessing Oils. you could look into Airfloatsys. I have never used them but know some artist that have. Good luck on getting them there and best wishes. by the way have you introduced yourself in the welcome forum for new users.

Re: Question about transporting artwork on airlines

I have carried art work in a large zippered canvas portfolio with handles, (don't remember the size, maybe 24x30? or 28x36 ?). I chalked onto the sides in very large letters "fragile art work enclosed fragile" and carried it on to be hung in the closet with the garment bags.
I don't know if they will still let you do this.
These pieces were unframed canvases in graduated sizes so they barely took up any more space than one would have.

You could rig up an 'aluminium flight case' to suit your artwork [Don't know what size your artwork is] but will be pretty resistant to damage and light weight too should save on costs
