Stress Free Secret Santa List 2008 Take Two

Okay, the weirdest thing just happened. I went to remove Duane's first post (with his permission) and I am sure I did it right, but the whole thread disappeared. As I was deleting it rather than throwing it in the trash, it is not to be found.

I'm sooooo sorry. Let's start anew. Start posting those lists.

All you need to do is post your wish list. If anybody sees something they can or want to give, they do. It is fun to see everybody's list and, speaking as somebody with a garage full of "treasures" you never know who might have what you want.

Ananda and Deborah have addresses so you can pm them. Remember to also give your address in case someone wants to surprise you!

Editing to add this info:

There are many wonderful glass tutorials for sale on Etsy and personal websites. These artists have put much time and experience into their work. If you would like to send a tutorial as a gift to someone, keep in mind that you can give one as a present per payment. So, if you want to give a tutorial to three people, you must pay for three.

Many of the peeps selling tuts on Etsy have agreed to send them to a friend's email address as a gift if you put that in your comments.

Re: Stress Free Secret Santa List 2008 Take Two

I thought I was the only one that deleted things without realizing it!
I'm kinda glad we're starting fresh because I want to make a small request of everyone. Please ask for something that it might be possible to send. World peace is good and all but I don't know where to find it (it's most certainly not in my mess of a studio) or how fit it in a box. I want to be able to send someone something fun that they really want. Do you like socks, yarn, candy, glass or tools? Please tell me what I can send to make you smile!

Here's my list (besides world peace and other unobtainable items).

Soft glass frit blends
Any James Kervin books
Dark chocolate of any kind . Yum...

OK, See if I can remember what I had asked for

I still want to wish all of you much peace, prosparity, health and joy in 2009.

My wish list is:

1. Any used tools that someone is no longer using. I really want a brass curved marver the most.

2. Book called Classic Bead Shapes of Jim Smircich & his Amazing Control of Heat, used or new.

3. COE 104 Morretti glass of any color and any shorts that someone wants to get rid of.

4. Just anything a newbie could use for lampworking that someone else isn't using anymore.

Re: Stress Free Secret Santa List 2008 Take Two

Hmmmm... darn what did I put on my list??

A new shed for my glass studio at my Fiance's house (it's a wish list, right? And you never know... he may read this!) Don't worry, I'll paint it.
A signed cork for my Samma vessel because she started signing them after I got mine.
A pay day at Samma's house so I can sheepishly con some soft glass lessons out of her. I'll bring wine!
Adagio Grapefruit Oolong tea or Ginger tea
Anything purple especially if it's thick fuzzy socks to keep my feet warm!
Chocolate or carmel or regular twizzlers, can't live without regular twizzlers!
A Christmas Card from my WC friends

Re: Stress Free Secret Santa List 2008 Take Two

Ok First things first! Did anyone reallize that Maxine wants Sunny Mango rods? Maybe I was day-dreaming (btw, who makes those)?
Ummm...Belinda I (seriously) have candy canes in a cupboard in kitchen from last year...would that be old enough for you

Anyways and for what its worth here's my list:

1) Free (it IS a WISH list) lesson from either Kate or Kristina
2) Free (see #1) course(s) at Pilchuck School of Glass-- ok I'll be happy
with pone of their rare studio tours.
3) Boro rods (or even ends) of the following Momko colors: Silver Dance,
Gypsy Queen, Carribean Coral, Brown Glitter, Autumn leaves, or any
other funky or bright color. (I've NEVER used boro and am dying to
try)
4) Marble mold- preferrably 1.5 - 2" I was awe inspired by Rich's marble
video
5) New kiln. Something larger than my mini table top kiln. Preferrably
large enough to fuse a dinner plate. Deep enough to fuse paper
weights. Complete with annealing properties, digital controller, and
120 (NOT 240) watts.
6) I want a GTT PYTHON torch!!! WOOOOHOOOOO! Are you
kidding ?? That dang flame alone (even on low) would be larger than
my workshop!
7) A larger studio (after my PYTHON burns down my current one )
One that I can move around in. One where I can work om my
stained glass, fusing AND lamp-working without bumping into and
tripping over things.
8) Caramel microwave popcorn. For those of you who know what it is,
ENOUGH SAID. Last time I checked it was made by Orville Reden-
bacher, Pop Secret or Act II. Simply can't find any around here.
Everyone else can keep their dark chocolate.
9) For everyone here (including myself), to have all their creations
(glass or otherwise) turn out exactly how they envisioned.
10) Lastly, all the usual mumbo-jumbo stuff about world peace, end
world hunger, solve poverty and stop global warming.
SERIOUSLY, THOUGH, WATCH OVER OUR BRAVE MEN AND
WOMEN, YOUNG AND OLD, AND BRING THEM ALL HOME SAFELY

Sorry this was so wordy

Duane

Re: Stress Free Secret Santa List 2008 Take Two

I'm thinking Maxine's girls are going to be in Kool Aid for a lifetime!

Thanks all for keeping the spirit alive and starting over. Just found out that removing the first post removes the entire thread. Won't be doing that again!

I do believe World Peace begins within each of us and it will always be on my Christmas list. Last year one of my students asked me what I wanted for Christmas this way, "Ms Towne, what do you want for Christmas besides world peace?" Word gets around.

Would love to meet more of my WC friends over the next year.

One thing I would love is for each of you, know some of you already have, to make a purple heart or butterfly bead and send it to Beads of Courage. If you do not know about this program here's a link to my BOC Challenge. Think you can't make a heart or butterfly, just send some of your beads, even wonkies, to brighten up the face of a child.

I have everything I can ask for this year and just wish to give. Helping others is the best way I know how to receive.

Thanks Duane for the thought but I'd much rather have the "old-fashion" candy canes.....Not the "old" candy canes......
