Here's the 2nd diagram, this one is jest a general listing of the things you should be aware of including in your drawing... like a checklist, did I indicate that area with a line or tone, etc...

Eye Diagram #2

Okay Animal here is diagram #3, besides the things to pay attention to here, try finding a photo of an eye, and doing the color section over it, with any photo editing program. This will help you to see how we build it, and what we pay attention to when drawing eyes without references...

I will load you another diagram tomorrow...

hey bobby - why don't you submit this as a contributing editor? it would be a great lesson for everyone to see. of course I'd want royalty rights for thinking of it.... just do me a pic or two and i'll call it even.

I'll see orchid, I may need a co-writer with the scripting, the article publisher has always perplexed me...

Anyway here animal this is a quick quick 5 minute study, mostly cuz i have been drawing this eye alot, so this was all about color layering, but for you, pay attention how the squiggly black lines form the eye (sorry i rushed, and i don't have a wacom tablet)

It's a 2 way approach, do the black line over the color base, or do the quick black lines and form the eye with color... btw this isn't a diagram, just wanted to share it with you Animal

Here's the pencil close up, so you can see the color layering...

later...

Eyes

Bobby... do you have demos on other portrait elements? Hair, mouth, nose etc.? If so, could we have the thread or url? This is like being in a one on one workshop... Thank you ever so much.

Bobby,
This is a wonderful tutorial.

I do have one correction that you need to make on your labeling. You have the Iris and Pupil reversed. The Pupil is the center opening inside of the colored Iris.
