Boro Bistro
A couple of us over in the tech forum were wondering how many would be interested in a boro newbie thread. We seem to be having more trouble learning boro, harder to find classes. Any one interested in stumbling along with us? Any knowledgeable folks willing to help us with very basic exercises??
Please give us your thoughts

Re: Boro Newbie Thread?? Any takers?
I am doing the happy dance our first person has she would be happy to do a guest teacher lesson!!! Sandra Seaman at onebead.com. I know there are at least 3-4 of us and I suspect more are trying to learn boro.

It will probably take a couple of weeks to get everything set up (after beadfest in Philly). I know with school starting etc things are busy for everyone right now.

I'm SO in! I put my boro down about 6 months ago out of frustration and have just returned to it this week. Love Sandra's beads!

Re: Boro Newbie Thread?? Any takers?
Happy dance (well as happy as I can be at this hour ) We have two artists who have said they will be happy to contribute but need a few days to put something together.
How long do you want to work @ project? 2 weeks, 1 month (give people time to order supplies?). I'll start looking for some other folks. This is going to be fun. As we start going I'll see if I can get glass list for the projects early.
Would anyone be willing to host a boro frit exchange? I can't take that on right now-but if we could do something it might save some money while we are learning. Just a thought.

I work on a Hot Head, and yes, you can make boro beads on a HH, but they have to be very small. I'd be interested in following this thread. I don't know how active I would be. I usually practice on Sundays. That's my day for play with glass.

Let me get this new torch under my belt and I'll jump in the muddle with ya's. I have a nice sampling of boro, but haven't even tried it just yet. Soon, very very soon.....
