My last work

HI,
Here's my last piece of work it's a 80x60 canvas the paint is "Golden" the airbrush an "Iwata sbs".
The hand is made freehand then I masked it and did the background.

Hope you like it.

Re: My last work

Incredible work David !! Very, Very inspiring .

How do you do it? do you sketch it first, and if so , with what? Or do you simply "sketch" with the airbrush?

Are you working opaque or transparent ?

Anyway, I'm amazed.

Re: My last work

Well,
Thanks for the c
Alberto, I do use thransparent paint. All the hand is made that way layer after layer untill I think it's ok then I masked the hand and did the background I used opaque and transparent colours...(I'm a fan of your work...do you use transparent colours as well?)
Lucio sorry I don't have a detalled process of the work it's my first colour painting in years and I think I still have a long way to go yet.
I was inspired in the wip Tim did about the Luke Skywalker it was great but I can't get the colours right the way he does I mostlly use transparent colours.
I sketche the painting with the airbrush and an opaque proyector ( you have to do it fast or the original will get big cos of the heat of the proyector).

Thanks to all of you again for your support.

David

Excellent David! I love this painting!

Great composition and execution! This one really speaks to me!

Did you do any erasing on the canvas?

Sam

Re: My last work

David,

It looks great. I want to do some larger pieces but I'm stuck with 30 x 40 till I find some canvas already AD-prepped. hehehehe

I'll bet it looks awesome in person. Thanks for the compliment on the wip I did but I am just digging into color seriously myself.

How long to complete this one?

Tim

Re: My last work

Alberto,
I didn't use the small paper(I didn't understand the explanations of your technique all that much)
Tim,
It took me 4 days or so to do this.
Sam,
I did use erasers sparelly but not too much I was scared to use them (it's on canvas).
Here's another pic so you can see the actual sizes of the painting.(that ugly guy is me. )

Re: My last work

David, you need to smile.

Alberto's process with the small piece of paper is this... When you are projecting and painting keep a small piece of white paper around and every now and then put the paper in front of the projector and then move it out of the way. An image will burn on your eye so that when you move it away you can see if what you are doing is what you should be doing. I could probably explain this better if I had more coffee in me so if you still don't understand I will do a better job of explaining this later.

Re: My last work

David, I... I am being.. hypnotized! heheheh

Nice expression! It tells the world that you have a little somethin' for them! hahah Just kidding. Thanks for the size ref. It helps to grasp the work as it would look in person. I should start doing that when I post. hehehe Put my mug in with each painting but do a weird face each time. hahahahhaha Hey, that's redundant! hahahahha It WOULD be a weird face each time. hehehe

okay, enough about me.....

It looks great.

Tim
