Dino Update.

Thank you all for your warm welcome back, seems like old times, coming home from my centre and posting my progress pictures.
I havent gotten around to trawling all the posts i missed while i was off line, so I dont know, what work of mine you have seen, and what you havent.
Heres what I was working on today.
My dinosaur, made from wood and Cds.

On this one, I have fitted the face.
i was GOING to make the head from Papper Mache, but thought that this idea was more in line with my original idea.
I cut a Cd making the mouth cutout with teeth, then added on two smaller round cuts of Cds for the eyes, there are 2 Cds, one on each side of the head.

Next, I cut out the shape of feet, and attached them on, then started to fill them out, using paper mache, to get the effect of claws - talons.

This last photo shows the overall effect.

I have still a lot of work to do, on the legs and bones, but Im getting there.
It has certainly been a strange Project, but now its all coming together, I am no longer getting the strange looks

Hope to see some of you in the cafe later

What a great idea ... wish I'd known you were saving those CDs as I worked at the post office and still have connections and there's usually tons of those things in the 'dud' bins ... where people have moved or such. (they're forever sending out CDs from AOL or such here). You're doing a great job on your dino ... please keep us posted on his progress!!!! Hope you're taking life easy, Joe!

To Joemajury

Hi there Joe;

I'm not familiar with your past postings (new here) but judging from this 'Dino' post, I'm sure past uploads were every bit as imaginitive and inventive. This is recycling at its epic! This is what I adore about 'art', its true diversity in both creation and appreciation. Truly a work of ART, even if your name IS Joe!
