Good morning all from rainy West Lancashire.

Nothing much on the cards for today, a little baking, cooking meals etc.

Morning Doug. That, Mike, is a scenario with which many wives are familiar 😄.

I'm expecting a lot of young men in Lycra to pass by today. It's the Tour of Britain's turn to visit our town. The place will be at a standstill while they cycle through. I might go and watch for a bit. My middle son cycles a lot but I never really got beyond my three wheeler.

Quizzing tonight.

Hope things are improving in Australia.

Brightened up, dried up. Do you mean 9/11 Lulu?

Re: *** Daily Wash Wednesday 11th September 2019 ***

Good evening all.

Yes it's that anniversary again. I have another private one tomorrow. Boo.

I'm not laughing Lulu ... truly ....

Weather has been better aka no terrifying winds. Sunshine Coast fires are contained for the moment as are the Gold Coast fire and the Granite Belt fires. The granite belt towns of Stanthorpe and Applethorpe, are relieved but they have less water than before. Won't get to Christmas.

We are going to do our block tomorrow. We always do our block but estra effort needed with dried leaves everywhere.

Friday is supposed to be the return of weather nastiness.

Good day all,

Storms last night knocked out our power. Just returned minutes ago. I had my own power with my standby generator. But, the phone was out and I can't provide that on my own.

Doug, Lulu may have been quoting Trump, as he once referred to it as 7/11.
Hard to believe it's been 18 years.

We have clear skies now but maybe more storms later.

Re: *** Daily Wash Wednesday 11th September 2019 ***

Good Morning all,
It is 6:00 a.m. here in still sleepy Oakwood. A plane just flew overhead on its way to the Base.

Bad news on my A1C reading at my Doctor's visit yesterday. It was 9.7, the highest it has ever been. So she put me on a new medication, Jardiance, in addition to the ones I have been taking to see if we can bring it down into the 7s where it had been I have another appointment in January to check if it has come down some.

Today is a very sad day remembering the tragedy that happened here in the States.

to all,

SYL,

Sylvia

Bill, block of land. Ours is an acre draped over a grassy knoll, currently grass less.

Re: *** Daily Wash Wednesday 11th September 2019 ***

Good Morning!!

VERY humid day in the making. I asked Steve not to send it up but he did it anyway

Yesterday wasn't bad and I actually enjoyed the balmy evening sitting on the deck.

This whole last summer I paid absolutely not attention to the back garden and it is a total disaster, it was just too hot and totally overrun by mosquitos. I spent 2 1/2 hours yesterday pulling down Engelman vines that had grown over all the trees and bushes. Today Peter is coming to cut down branches and stuff.

Lunch and pee duty for puppy.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GAIL!!!! Wishing you a great day and many happy and healthy returns!! I hope you check in and let us know how you are doing.

Annie and JJ, the water shortage in Australia really is quite frightening. So glad the fires are being controlled, at least temporarily.

Doug, that is a really nice picture of your mom, she was a good looking woman.

re yesterday's comments about spanking or "a stern look would do it", a stern look threatening what??? My mother was pretty brutal with her spankings, did it change my behaviour - not one bit. Having said that did the knowledge that I would get spanked change my behaviour, NOPE, just hoped I wouldn't get caught It was the norm where and when I grew up, I still remember standing in my best friends house waiting for her mother's pretty severe spanking to stop so we could go outside and play. Spanking stopped, Hannelore stopped screaming, and off we went

to all here and all yet to come!!!!

Uschi

Re: *** Daily Wash Wednesday 11th September 2019 ***

everyone,
Dull and cool with a chance of more rain. The high will be 13.

I think this date will be one of those that is indelibly stamped on peopleís minds. It is an event that people will always remember where they were that day.

Today is an appointment this morning, groceries, and maybe get back to painting. I hope the old superstition about mirrors isnít true. My wall-mounted makeup mirror fell off and broke both sides (plain and magnifying). Does that mean 14 years bad luck? Iíll check uptown for another one this weekend.

No other news so Iíll get my breakfast and start my day.

Edit: Happy birthday Gail. I guess I was a day early wishing you that on Facebook yesterday.

Sunny and warm out there now.

Happy Birthday, Gail, I hope you are both doing well.

Ruth is watching one of my favourite films, South Pacific.
