Re: *** Daily Wash Tuesday 10th September 2019 ***

Good evening Doug.

Smoky day today. Wind change brought the smoke from all the fires. Quite eerie and initially worrying.

No use hoping for rain. Weather bureau is doubtful of any for months.

Several child arsonists are "helping police with their enquiries ". Just think, school holidays start in a week or so. Oh goodie.

Not much else. The garden is slowly dying. Can't do anything about it.

The parrots and other birds need the birdbaths filled twice a day.

May be back later

Child arsonists Annie? Id make their backsides extremely hot! Hope you get some rain.
Rather grey and cool here but warmth and sunshine forecast for weekend. Perhaps all the tomatoes will ripen yet. Good morning Doug & Geoff and all still to wake up across the Atlantic. Congratulations to the Australian Test Cricket team - you Aussies were a bit too good.

Re: *** Daily Wash Tuesday 10th September 2019 ***

Evening all....

Tuesday is Dancing Day

Awful awful fires in Oz....unbelivable The parents should be charged as well.

Thrashing children here would likely give you jail time, Mike.....'tis illegal.
Smacking is too.
I don't disagree with that. Hitting anyone, young or old, is never acceptable, but it hasn't lessened the extreme violence against children that was intended when the law was passed.

Has been a cold wind today, still raining intermittently too. But that doesn't affect dancing....

Tomorrow night our Italian class are going to a movie, a comedy. We currently have the Italian Film Festival in our local theatre.
Looking forward to it.

Ciao!

Lulu and Mike, you are forgetting the great Aussie tradition of burning down your school during the school holidays. Expect a few of those too, though January is the most likely month.

Thrashing children never helps.

Good evening Rod.

I was going to add that although thrashing doesn't work, making them clean up after, burned homes, animals etc. might.

Good Morning all,
It is 6:15 a.m. here in dark and quiet Oakwood, even the crickets and tree frogs are asleep.

I have a checkup with my primary care physician at the Base Hospital this morning. No problem, just routine diabetic care, etc. visit.

Larry got the fridge leveled while I was at art class, so it is happily humming (quietly) away.

So sorry to read the tragic fires were caused by some brain-dead "youths" as they call the younger criminal elements here.

to all,

SYL,

Sylvia

Good day all,

Going to be hot and humid today. We are a weather forecaster club, aren't we?

Ms. Feral screamed for food this morning, but she could have been singing love songs.

Hoping to finish boulder clean up today.

Boris is sure having a time of it.

Had a good four hours sleep and will soon return to bed for more.

Afternoon all. JJ and Annie, sorry to hear about the fires, especially given that arson was involved.

Anita, thanks for telling us about Nita Engle. I bought her book fairly recently.

Steve, I love a bargain, well done Lisa.

Belated birthday greetings to Nancy!

I've had a delightfully busy few days and have struggled to keep up with the wash, so my apologies for not responding to many people.

Singing this afternoon then a committee meeting tonight. Only one of those activities sparks joy 😄.

Have the best day you can, washers.

QS

Doom and gloom.

I have lost my voice, the smoke here is horrific. Those poor people caught up in all those fire. My heart is sick for them. Those juveniles, should be made to help clean up, and do community service somewhere that will teach them compassion. Their parents too.

I am off to bed I have another early dental appointment in the morning.

Love and hugs my friends.

Re: *** Daily Wash Tuesday 10th September 2019 ***

Good Morning Washers... it was a golden sunrise this morning in the warm and humid air. We're at 19C already today and it will get summer hot by this afternoon.

Nothing much happening here today. I have some bell peppers from the garden that need to be diced and bagged for the freezer. That's all. I'll clean the bathrooms and run the stick vacuum over the Entry rug.

I painted the hydrangea yesterday and it's rather pretty. It's certainly not dramatic and there's no strong lighting... but it's a pretty floral that the Beginners would like. It took me about 2 1/2 hours from beginning to end and that's really a problem. The Group will be here for 3 hours, but they haven't ever painted before. Oh *sigh*...

JJ, it's appalling that someone, anyone, has set those fires! I'm not sure that the parents can be held accountable for their actions... parents everywhere are suffering from the social and pathological actions by angry young people. Nonetheless, when they're caught, they definitely need to be punished to the very letter of the law.

I agree with Annie, that they should be forced to work in the cleanup crews to experience the horror they caused!

Uschi, Ted's hernias were originally the result of heavy lifting as a Paramedic. They were repaired and kept in place with a special mesh that ran horizontally across his abdomen. The surgeon cut up from stem to stern in January through the mesh. The pressure from the ascites has pushed the hernias back out and as it builds in Ted's abdomen, they become more and more painful. Given Ted's currently weakened condition and the constant buildup of the fluid, there's no hope to have the hernias repaired. He is wearing a compression t-shirt and a binder over a large dressing because the incision is trying to open up again.

Hiya Doug and Geoff

(((Annie))) My heart breaks for you as you watch what you love shrivel away in the drought. Putting out water for the birds is beyond kind.

Hiya Mike... no paddling done here. Child Services would be paying a visit post haste.

Lulu, going to that movie is really going to be fun!!!

Sylvia, our house has quite a lean and I watched as Ted tried to level our appliances. I'm sure you'll be filling your nice new fridge today. I'll tell you that they are deceiving when empty making you believe there's all kinds of room on those shelves. There's not.

Hiya Bill... I like reading about everyone's weather. Without it, we'd be a dead planet, eh? Ms. Feral...

QS, committee meetings strike fear in the hearts of all who must attend them!

I brewed the coffee and fed the herd much earlier. I should have waited for the coffee because Ted is still sleeping. I'm going to pour a second cup and browse around the interwebs awhile.

All yet to come, those under the weather and our Lurkers. Please enjoy the best possible day!
