Aqueduct

I usually post in the abstract forum, but actually my work really should be posted here as mixed media. This one measures 24x24 inches and I started with a base of paper and acrylics and then added the oil and cold wax. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

I love it! I feel like I"m entering a strange alien world where I don't know quite what the rules are. The depth is amazing. Do you mount these so that the wax doesn't crack in the future?

Wow I love this. Awesome colour and I agree with Cyndi it has a lot of depth. Was wondering if you have any gold leaf on it. Has a metallic shine in some areas.

Re: Aqueduct

When I don't have cradle boards available I do the oil and cold wax on gallery wrapped canvases. Haven't had any problems with cracking. I put a finish of cold wax over the entire canvas when finished. If you see a sheen, I did apply some powdered interference blue which I mixed with the cold wax.

Love those touches of blue! Feels like flying over a clouded landscape...great depth and perspective.
