Re: ** Daily Wash Wednesday 12th September 2018**

Hey Geoff Sharon and all to come.. Geoff I live with constant back pain major cause of my chronic pain..

I have had a busy day. Curves first, then shopping for the doings for supper tonight. Off to the garden centre for potting mix and I picked a cute plant, have to find a home for her.
Home ate lunch and put supper on in the slow cooker, Thai chicken dish. Smells divine! Next put my washing on, did half and hours gardening, planted my rosemary bush, and realised it was only 1.30 pm.

I had a funny thing happen at the garden centre..
I was waiting patiently for a car parking space. There was a car behind me with a woman packing her goods into it, and one in front doing the same thing. I am stopped in between both of them, in the top end of the car park by the garden centre gates,

It is a very tight little car park. only suitable for cars..

I look in the rear mirror and there is a Big van, a large camper type van parked in front of the lady who had finished her packing and was wanting to get her car out.

The woman in the Van was indicating for me to move forward, which I can't because the garden trolleys and plant trolleys were right in front of me.

So I got out of my car, and walked up to her vehicle and she is still indicating to me with a flapping arm to move up. I said why? She said I need to let this lady out, I said back up. She said but I want one of the parking spots. I looked at her and her van and said are you serious, with a smile, Your van wont fit. I told her I couldn't move.

The guy packing his car was smiling at me. She was yelling at me, but I had already turned and walked back to my car, pretending not to hear her. She wouldn't have got that large vehicle in there

So she had to turn her huge van, around and go park where she should have parked in the first place in the main car part were there was a ton of room. The lady in the car was able to get out, the guy had just got into his car and was backing out so I waited for him. As he pulled out he smiled the broadest smile and waved at me

Darla, big hugs for your kitty..

Hugs to you too Kay.

That is some pond Betty.

Good luck with your framing Steve.

I had better go, my last load of washing is done.

Later

Re: ** Daily Wash Wednesday 12th September 2018**

Morning Everyone

Good morning Geoff. I just got up to take an Aleve myself. Mowed the yard myself today. Aches & pains

Well I have a health insurance story for you all. Steve I know you will appreciate this one.

As some of you know I see a Retina Specialist to get monthly injections on my eyes due to Diabetic Retinopathy. Back in June my Dr. told me that he believed that I needed to have a different drug. The one he said I needed is called Eyelia.

I would need med insurance approval before I could get the med as it was expensive. They couldn't tell me how expensive but before I left their office I had to sign a paper from giving Medical Benefits Investigations permission to contact my insurance company. The form also asked how many people in our household & you got to check your income level. The first box of income level started at 75,000 ---100,000.

So before my July appt I contacted the specialist office 4 times asking about the insurance approval. Finally they had an answer & Yes I was granted authorization for the med up to $10,000 for the year. OK so they made it sound like this would take care of it. I was still skeptical but I had the first injection in July.

A week ago Tuesday I contacted my insurance company because we saw online that they had a claim come through for the July shots for $10,000. It turns out that was just for the one month injection & every month I get them it will be $10K.

I was told that it was a medical necessity that I get these injections & ALL Cost would be covered & I only had to pay for copay. I had coverage for 1 year of treatment so if needed 12 injections. Fine I went on Monday this week & got my 2nd injection.

Got a phone call today at 4pm from my insurance company ----they have changed their mind. They said that they can buy the drug cheaper from Kroger pharmacy rather than the pharma that make the drug. Soooo they were taking this out of the major medical coverage & putting it in our pharmacy benefits & all I would have to would be to go to Krogers & pay a 25% copay. They had paid the Retina specialist $5,700 on the last bill so lets say even at $5,000 our part would be $1,250 every month.

I said No, I don't think so. We can't afford that. Well that is why I'm calling you to give you the phone number to call the Eyelia Co-pay number. They have a co-pay Assistance program. (This just keeps getting more interesting)

I call the number. I find out that the paper I signed in June at the Retina office was for them actually. I was denied this coverage because my insurance co told them they would cover it. So now with this change of news they will contact my insurance company. I will then be qualified for their co-pay assistance program & I will pay $5 each month by presenting this card to the pharmacy. So they say. They will pay the 25% copay to my insurance co up to $10,000 a year. This is a new drug & the treatment plan is 1 year.

Soooo we will see what happens next. I think a whole lot of funny math goes on in this system. Folk I'm not worried about losing my vision. I would rather not & I see pretty good now. Just the distance vision not good. However there are people suffering horrible things every day. I will not however put us on the street homeless to pay for this. That co-pay would be greater than my husband bi-weekly paycheck. Not going to happen when there is such funny $$$$$ accounting going on.

So we shall see

Everyone take care

Anita

Good morning all, dry here after overnight rain.

I sympathize with those with back pain, Ruth is on morphine patches and supplementary patches for here longstanding back pain. Luckily I'm OK at the moment

How awful that you have to face such enormous medical bills, our system is not perfect but is mostly covered by taxes.

Baking this morning ready for a get together this evening.

Ruth is crocheting quillows for an upcoming charity sale.

Anita it is all big business eh. They will extract the most they can out of you. I think it is appalling, and I bet the drug doesn't really cost quite that much either. Big hugs..

A world famous very high profile tennis player made a public and world wide display of temper, this umpire used the rules to censor instead of turning the other cheek.

Anita...I am on Eylia and now only have injections every two months....it costs the NHS £950 or US$1400 a shot.............free to us,of course.

Rod...it was very much over the top,no sympathy here.

Good quiet day today.

Anita, you need a health system.

Do need to say in her defence, she was the only one who remembered the in tears victor and yelled at the booing crowd to stop. Not that that would have helped Naomi much. Talk about rain on her parade.

Jimmy Connors like exploits should not be emulated or got away with by anyone. Male female or whoever.

Hope all in the path of cyclones in US and Phillipines are safe. Well, hurricanes and typhoons, respectively.

Geoff your horse comment stirred a memory...

Before quad bikes came along John was a very good horseman. Loved seeing him on the horses. Particularly on the big black gelding who would trot along nicely and then occasionally, suddenly leapt sideways.
This went on for a long time until eventually he crossed into horse heaven....At the autopsy one of his kidneys was full of stones!

Not that I am suggesting that we do this to you.... lol
