The Eternal Bond

I had been painting Buddha now and then ..but when I painted this from a sculptural reference, I never knew that this was little Buddha and his Mother, Maya Devi until one of my friends pointed out so.
Used Winsor and Newton Raw Umber, Payne's Grey, Orange and Blue lake on an Indian make 270 gsm half imperial sized Matt paper

Super work! It does look like a sculpture reference. Did you add the ornaments?

Thanks Indraneel...no .I didn't add anything...the ornaments are there....it's probably the most beautiful mother child sculpture that I came across...and is on top of a column in a Palitana temple, Gujarat.

Re: The Eternal Bond

I really enjoy the limited palette and the good composition. I also appreciate the reference. Namaste.
