"Pasture Under The Mountain"

9"x12" Oil on ACM
Original composition

I've been doing a lot of very detailed landscapes lately, following along with the Michael James Smith art school. In this effort, I wanted to try to be looser and avoid overworking things and getting into too much detail. I'm a big fan of the Hudson River School landscapes and of Andrew Tischler's, so these were my influences at work here.

Some very competent landscape/form rendering going on here! I can defintely see the Michael James Smith/ Tischler influence too! Some great youtube vids by those cats!
