playing with offcuts in ink

playing with offcuts from the edge of a larger painting - side strips cut to 5cm squares. I quite like the mini landscapes it created

Re: playing with offcuts in ink

Thank you Doug and Linda

They are offcuts from a stormy, rainy seascape that has waves crashing over a harbour wall. Turning some offcuts sideways suggested woods - but abstract and undefined.

I've done this with more colourful offcuts in the past and they make great cards!

The painting was an unfinished experiment with texture paste that I decided to work on in thin glazes of acrylic inks, keeping the colour very muted.

So clever and smart! Love to cut them up and make new little minis. Love them all! I hope you'll post this on Abs/Con if you get a chance.

Re: playing with offcuts in ink

I played with them digitally and this may become a series in watercolour with pastel on a larger scale maybe 6 inch squares?

playing is so useful in developing ideas

digital variations to develop ...........
