WIP Blake the dog

My daughter's best friend, who is quite an honorary member of our family, recently lost her dog to a freak series of circumstance after being attacked in a dog park. He then had a serious reaction to the anesthesia the emergency vet used. She asked me to do a painting of Blake and showed me some photos of him. Now he was a lab mix, somewhat thin, with some saggy pit bull type jowls. This is where I am in the process....any suggestions are appreciated. 1/16 Arches, DS Sodalite, Quin Gold, Yellow Ochre, collar is a black mix I make. I want to keep it simple with no background.

Good start. Are you going to apply colour?

No suggestions, but he's very handsome. I like your treatment of his coat and the shadows under his chest and on the back of his front leg. Sad story :-(
But I think you are doing justice to what looks like a very good boy!
