This is a Weber/Bob Ross TRAVEL EASEL. The piece with the rope holds the top of the canvas when necessary. The canvas on the easel in the picture is just an 8x10. The description on the Ross site says it will hold a canvas up to 36 but the largest Ive tried is 16x20 $5.00
