Use to denote nudity/mature subject matter an unexpected Eve

I started this yesterday then got carried away today. I didn't intend the picture to look anything like this. It's Zorn palette again but I added sap green. I think Zorn used viridian green for a stronger green in his landscapes. As ever I'm unhappy with the hands and the colour on the right arm is off, but it was fun

This looks like you were having fun- some enthusiastic brush strokes.
Will you work on this some more?

Re: an unexpected Eve

When I saw this, my immediate thought was "Awestruck Adam sees first woman".

What an attractive figure. Love the incredible range of color one can achieve with just "3" colors (black and white really being an absence of color). An interesting point in that mindset would be that the downward facing planes of her forms would be catching reflected light from the surrounding grasses.

You did a wonderful job with the rendering of the forms though. I would have gotten quite involved in this painting as well.

Thanks Bethany, Constance, Earl and Delo. I think I got over excited and felt the urge to post too soon. Delo you are so right about reflected green in the shadows. and I should have worked on that already. In my defence the foliage came later and unexpectedly I will be working on that. As for the number of colours, Zorn used ivory black for more than just darkening. It has a blue base which can produce subtle greens when mixed with yellow ochre. I think youre right about the Adam bit, I've fallen in love with her a bit myself!

I've done some more work on the picture, a little green in the shadows and more work on the right hand. It really needs softening a little but its too wet right now. I dont want to overwork it so its probably time to stop. Ive made her a little more modest, this is an Eve who hasn't yet met the serpent

I'm glad you're enjoying oils David and it shows May I know if this is done from imagination?

An interesting one and quite seductive. The vivid green really sets of the flesh tones. Nice!
