The flowers are really good Gordon, as is the fruit and I really do like the lighting on the whole group.
Nor seeing your set-up, I'd suggest the base of the bowl is too defined- for most of it, a shadow is cast over it and this would make the base line much softer - it would also help anchor the vase.
I'd also check the base of the glass bowl - the ellipse.

Beautiful painting!
I was so taken by the flowers and lighting I didnt notice that ellipse until Maureen mentioned it, but yes of course she's right.
