** Daily Wash Thursday 8th March 2018**

Early Morning All.

Moon ultra bright brings out the werewolf in me...no cramps so far!

Good lecture on local archaeology last evening...just Christine and I went, there was a raffle of mainly Easter Eggs and Christine had second ticket out...jokingly I said bring the whisky back, that always goes with first pick....she did and gave it to me as she doesn't drink spirits.First pick had taken a chocolate cake! She reckoned it was a fair swap for a month of bacon sandwiches!

Back after pool.

Geoff

Re: ** Daily Wash Thursday 8th March 2018**

Good morning all. A rainy day ahead after a rainy night.

I discovered a bottle of Glenfiddick that I won as a raffle prize, I'll have to give it to someone or put it in another raffle. I have a cupboard full of spirits that I bought when we used to have parties before the drink driving laws came in. Now all people drink is wine and gin and tonic. We of course drink apple juice.

Art class this morning, we will be painting Hibiscus from Reference Image Library photos which I recomposed in psp.

(((Uschi))) I hope the chemo isn't too bad.

Morning Geoff, morning everyone. There was a snow warning but I think the Met Office is being ultra cautious as none has fallen. Those Raffles can be very embarrassing; I’d have picked the whisky too! Think it is better when your number is already on an item - OK you might be lumbered with an egg timer or bed socks but at least it avoids the temptation to creep away with the single Malt or nice Sauvignon.
Nasty goings on in Salisbury - two Russians poisoned with a nerve agent. It reads like the storyline of a good thriller but frightenly it is for real.

Sun is up and time for a mug of tea.

Hi Mike, good to see you back. I usually circulate my prizes to the next raffle unless they are chocolates

Yes the Salisbury poisoning is shocking - nerve agent which also affected a policeman who is now in intensive care. The second Russian defector to be poisoned of late.

Good evening. ... Geoff, Doug and Mike and all who follow.

Saw the news of the poisoning in Britain. Poor policeman probably tried to resuscitate them. Beyond sad. Less a spy novel than a b grade movie happening for real. The great Kim got rid of his half brother in Malaysia with Vx too.

Geoff, you and EIleen are looking after Christine well.

THank heavens you don't recirculate the chocolates Doug.

Well, a cool lovely day today marred only by shattered scours. Scattered showers. Cats are in and fed. Housework not done. Found a book by Edward Rutherford at the dump. Paris. I hadn't read that one yet.

Good morning all

My first post but I couldn't resist. We have at least three inches of snow here in sunny Queensbury (between Halifax and Bradford). Reports say roads are worse than last week. Fortunately I don,t need to go out

Hi Rod, it is turning to rain here. The art class is cancelled.

Geoff can you upload a picture to the RIL, call it "Test Delete", the RIL mods think there may be a problem with the RIL uploader.

Annie....re Christine, she and the late Dr.John have been part of my life for probably 60 plus years...they are/were very giving people with hospitality and more especially time....She has always been, a Honorary sister to me and Dr.John was the brother I never had.....so looking after her these many months has been someway of returning all that they have given us...and will ever continue that way.

Re: ** Daily Wash Thursday 8th March 2018**

Good Morning all,
It is 4:45 a.m. here in dark and sleepy Oakwood. Woke up to a light snow covered ground this morning. The roads are slick so I hope people drive carefully on their way to work.

Interesting photos in yesterday's Wash. Our neighbor across the street went on a paddlewheel cruise on the Mississippi a couple of months ago. She said it was lots of fun.

Finished my bonsai painting, will take a photo and post it later when it is light outside.

Welcome to the Wash, John.

Geoff, Sounds like a good prize Christine picked out for you.

Terrible news about the poisoning there. Sad for the father and daughter, but especially sad for the policeman so gravely ill now for doing his job and trying to resuscitate them.

to all who were here before me and to those still on their way.

SYL,

Sylvia

Re: ** Daily Wash Thursday 8th March 2018**

Thanks Geoff, I have informed the RIL mod.

Hi Sylvia, I love bonsai, I have a couple in pots in the garden, They are maples with decorative leaves from wings I picked up on my travels. I planted them in pots and cut off the tap root which keeps them small.

The snow is thawing now, the temperature is 3C.

Doug

How is it possible to snow and rain simultaneously?
You are going to have ice or black ice in the streets. Be careful where you step on to.

Here we have the opposite. A very early spring. This is not normal even for Greece.
