Santa Fe Plein Air?

Have any of you participated in this event? What did you think?

I also noticed that they have a huge plein air convention, billed as the largest in the world. It looks very interesting but not really something I would want to go to myself unless it was free rather than the $1200 charged for the full event.

Re: Santa Fe Plein Air?

I've been to two of the Plein Air Conventions and I can tell you that I had a blast both times. It is a bit pricey but, it's such a great networking opportunity, and there's so much to learn, that it's been worth it to me. Full disclosure, this year I'm on the faculty so, of course, I'd like more folks to sign up. But, I'd encourage people to go even if I wasn't. Especially, if one has never been. Good luck.

Re: Santa Fe Plein Air?

Thanks for the response. I know I would enjoy it. A good friend of mine is also on the faculty this year which is another reason I wanted to go.

I am guessing that the plein air event linked my original post would be pretty crowded since it happens so close to the convention date. I don't really enjoy huge plein air painting gatherings, so I will probably skip that if I do end up going to the convention.
